Patient Family Advisory Council

The Banner Desert Cancer Center Patient/Family Advisory Council is made up volunteers and Banner health professionals who work together as dedicated advocates for Banner Desert Cancer Center patients and families throughout the cancer journey.

We know the healing journey is significantly and visibly improved when patients, family members and professionals work together.

We encourage the involvement of patients in their own care, provide resources for caregivers and welcome the support of family members.

Our council also provides advice to the hospital administration on issues relevant to patient care.  When collaboration between patients, families and healthcare professionals is strengthened, the result is the high standard of safe, comprehensive and compassionate care to which Banner Desert Cancer Center is dedicated.
 
The council is now in its second year of operation and is focusing on completing some key projects identified such as improved communication and education for our patients and families.
