From cancer prevention and diagnosis to terminal care, bereavement and survivorship, patients and families of Banner Desert Cancer Center receive complete psychosocial support. An on-site Masters Prepared Counselor provides complementary outpatient counseling to help patients and their families cope with and adapt to the cancer diagnosis.

The Banner Desert Cancer Center has partnered with the American Cancer Society to provide individualized education and treatment plans through the Cancer Resource Center. Interested patients can call the Cancer Resource Center Navigator at (480) 512-3817 for more information.

The cancer resource navigator offers free, confidential assistance to patients, family members and caregivers by providing:

• Information on a specific cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Patient advocacy and one-on-one support throughout the cancer journey
• American Cancer Society program and service information taking into account each patient’s transportation, lodging and support resources
• Comfort items such as mastectomy products, wigs and nutritional supplements
• Research on community resources and enrollment assistance
• Access to a cancer information specialist 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
