Banner Desert and Cardon Children's open largest Emergency Center in Arizona
Construction that took place in a carefully phased project that lasted nearly seven years is now complete.
In 2011, Banner Desert and Cardon Children’s opened the largest Emergency Center in Arizona, with 103 treatment bays and an expectation to treat more than 100,000 people annually.
Before the expansion, the Emergency Center was only 27,000 square feet, with separate entrances for adult and pediatric patients. Now, the 66,000 square-foot Emergency Center has a single point of entry for both adult and pediatric patients.
