Our Inpatient Rehabilitation department is dedicated to working with our patients on individualized treatment plans that focus on restoring their abilities to care for themselves.

Our staff consists of occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists.  We work closely with nurses and physicians to ensure that patients and their families receive a comprehensive and personalized care plan during their hospital stay.

Inpatient Rehabilitation services include:

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy works to improve a patient’s functional daily living skills as well as to improve motor, cognitive and social skills. The occupational therapy staff will evaluate quality of life issues such as:  

  • Activities of Daily Living  (Toileting, Bathing, Dressing, Grooming, Feeding)
  • Strengthening and Range of Motion of Upper Extremities
  • Safety issues
  • Use of assistive devices to aid in independence with Self Care Activities
  • Independent mobility as it relates to performing self care activities

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy helps patients improve strength, flexibility and functional movement such as bed mobility, walking and balance. The PT staff will evaluate and treat a wide variety of movement and functional deficits such as:

  • Orthopedic
  • Cardio-pulmonary
  • Oncology
  • General Medical Diagnoses
  • Neurological/Balance
  • Wound Care Management (Specialty services such MIST Ultrasound are offered)

Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy also referred to as speech pathology, uses special techniques to help patients improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, concentration, memory and voice quality. Speech and Language Pathologist address evaluation and treatment of disorders related to:

  • General Voice Disorders
  • Laryngectomies and Voice Prostheses
  • Tracheostomy speaking valve usage and/or Ventilator
  • Modified Barium Swallow studies (MBS)
  • Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
  • Cognition
