Banner Desert Medical Center doctors and staff work together to meet each family's needs throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery and recovery.

Labor and Delivery
Our Labor, Delivery and Recovery rooms are large enough to accommodate family, friends or additional support during the birth.
We provide amenities such as our private soaking tub, birthing balls and rocking chairs to help women relax and ease the stress of labor. We also provide wireless monitors that allow added mobility.
High Risk Obstetrics
Banner Desert is the only hospital in the East Valley to offer a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We provide at-risk mothers dedicated and experienced doctors and nurses prepared to care for the most complex pregnancies and deliveries, as well as for emergencies that may arise during routine deliveries.
Family-Centered Care
At Banner Desert, we practice “couplet care,” bringing mother and baby room together after delivery. They are cared for by the same nursing staff on our 2B/2C post-partum unit. This allows for additional bonding.
Dads can stay overnight in comfort and our visiting hours support a family-centered care philosophy. Other conveniences include wi-fi, flat screen TVs and room service available for new mothers.
To ensure the safety of each baby, tamper-proof security bands are placed on each child at birth and are not removed until discharge.
