Pregnancy and Teen Health (PATH)
Pregnancy and Teen Health (PATH) is a free pregnancy support program that helps young women 21 and under with the many decisions that come having a healthy pregnancy.
Our goal is to support and educate through both your pregnancy and your journey as a new parent. We want to ensure that you have the knowledge, resources and skills you need to be a successful parent so you can raise a happy and healthy baby.
Planning for your pregnancy
There are many decisions to make when planning for a healthy pregnancy. Our team of experts can help with your concerns on every topic, including:
- Accessing medical insurance and/or payment alternatives
- Scheduling prenatal care visits with doctors or clinics
- Registering for childbirth classes just for teens
- Learning about how to have a healthy pregnancy
- Setting up home visits to help with parenting
- Providing support groups, classes and events
- Selecting, scheduling and completing regular checkups for your baby with a pediatrician.
Our team
During your first scheduled appointment at Banner Desert Medical Center, you will meet:
- A Child Development Expert will assist you in enrolling in the PATH program and make sure there are resources in place to help you maintain a healthy pregnancy. These resources include participation in the Pregnancy, Parenting and Play Program and Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services (TOPS)
- Patient Financial Services staff who will assist in enrollment in AHCCCS or other medical insurance/payment plan
- Nurse who will provide a free pregnancy test to verify pregnancy
- OB doctor who will welcome you to the program, answer your initial questions about pregnancy, and help coordinate your followup prenatal visits, blood work and ultrasound.
