About Banner Estrella
Banner Estrella Medical Center was built in 2005 in west Phoenix to meet the health care needs of a growing West Valley community.
A full-service medical campus, the 266 all-private bed hospital offers an array of medical services, including heart care, emergency services, general surgery, weight loss surgery, medical imaging, orthopedic surgery and a comprehensive maternity services program.
Banner Estrella also offers and encourages the use of complementary therapies, such as pet therapy, aromatherapy, spiritual care, Reiki Therapy and classes on relaxation techniques.
Our hospital is designed to provide a soothing, healing atmosphere for both patients and their family members.
To meet the needs of a diverse population, Banner Estrella provides certified bilingual interpreters to help Spanish-speaking patients and family members communicate with physicians, nurses and other caregivers. Additionally, the hospital offers over-the-phone interpretation for patients who speak a language other than English or Spanish.
Features include: unlimited visiting hours for designated care partners, room-service meals for patients and visitors, premium movies, free Internet access and interchangeable wall art.
Additionally, we incorporate state-of-the-art technology such as electronic medical records and computerized physician order entry system. These systems work together to reduce and eliminate medical errors.
Banner Estrella also offers state-of-the art technology such as iCare, a telemedicine program that provides an extra layer of monitoring for patients in intensive-care units. Banner Estrella's Maternity Services department uses an intelligent OB program to help reduce the chances of complications during labor and delivery.
Banner Estrella employs approximately 1,400 health care professionals and support staff, and a medical staff of more than 700 physicians who serve the rapidly growing West Valley communities of Avondale, Buckeye, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Surprise, Tolleson and west Phoenix.
The 266-bed hospital is currently undergoing its first major expansion, a two-year project that includes the recent opening of a second patient tower. This tower opened in March 2014 and, upon full built-out, will add 144 beds to the campus, while also expanding surgical, obstetrical, imaging and emergency department capabilities. The expansion project, scheduled for completion in July 2015, will also double the size of the hospital's Emergency Department.
