PHOENIX (April 1, 2015) – As the flu and cold season winds down, Banner Health has lifted visitor restrictions at all of its facilities. Restrictions for the 2014-2015 cold and flu season were implemented last Oct. 1; a little earlier than expected because of the outbreak of Enterovirus D68 across the nation.

These Banner facilities were recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and/or Surgical Care. The Banner facilities are among 1,224 hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2013 Top Performer distinction.

PHOENIX (June 21, 2013) – Timothy Ranney, MD, has accepted the role of chief medical officer at Banner Estrella Medical Center, 9201 W. Thomas Road, in west Phoenix. Dr. Ranney (pronounced “ran-ee”) will fill the vacancy created when former CMO Dr. Ken Welch accepted a position with a different organization in August. Dr. Ranney’s first day will be Sept. 3.
