Telemetry
After a minimally-invasive or non-invasive heart procedure, Banner Estrella patients recuperate in the 24-bed Telemetry unit, also located on the second floor of our Patient Tower. A majority of cardiac catheterization patients in the Telemetry unit receive therapy then leave the following day. While the patient is in the hospital, they are continuously monitored on specialized cardiac telemetry systems.

Admittance to the Telemetry unit means your physician and other caregivers have decided you are ready to move to the next level of care, from Cardiac or Cardiovascular ICU.

You are requiring less additional oxygen, are eating and are able to increase your activity level. Continuous bedside monitoring and one-on-one nursing is no longer required, which means you are doing well and ready to go home.

Encompassing the entire second floor of the Patient Tower, patients in the Cardiac unit at Banner Estrella can take great comfort in knowing that the facility provides full-service for all types of significant health problems, including diabetes, lung and kidney complications, neurological conditions and gastro-intestinal problems.

Cardiac and Cardiovascular Intensive Care
Surgical patients recover in one of the all-private patient suites within a dedicated 12-bed Cardiac and Cardiovascular ICU. As with all of Banner Estrella's patient rooms, Cardiac and Cardiovascular ICU rooms provide a couch that folds into a bed for overnight guests, room service meals, pay-per-day premium movies and free Internet access through their in-room, 30-inch flat screen television.

The Cardiac and Cardiovascular ICU is staffed by dedicated cardiac nurses, physicians and support care givers such as respiratory care practitioners, providing some of the best possible care for heart-related ailments in the growing West Phoenix area. Cardiac ICU patients enjoy a ratio of one nurse to every two patients to best provide each Cardiac ICU patient personalized attention.
