Michael Bianchi to serve as Associate Administrator for the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center
By Pam Nenaber, CEO
Michael Bianchi, MHA, will serve as the associate administrator for both Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Mike will add these additional duties to his current role immediately.
In this increased role, Mike will be working closely with Edgardo Rivera, BMDACC medical director, Vicki Koceja, BMDACC clinical administrative director, and the BMG operations director responsible for the BMDACC physician group. He will be accountable for the overall administrative and operational functions of the Cancer Center.
Mike began his career in oncology in 1999 at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. He held progressively responsible positions of supervisor, clinic administrator, and operations project manager. From there, Mike went to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center first as the clinical business manager for Stem Cell Transplantation and Apheresis, then as clinical business manager for the Ambulatory Treatment Centers and finally to the project director in Global Clinical Programs. It was in this position that members of the Gateway team had the opportunity to meet and work with Mike.
Mike became the associate administrator for Banner Gateway a little over a year ago. His responsibilities include all clinical and support ancillary services for the hospital. He has been instrumental in the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center project development team. Mike has great strengths in critical thinking, interpersonal communications, and just diving in to do whatever needs accomplished. He has the Banner three “Es” and takes time to encourage and motivate team members.
We can think of no more qualified individual to take on the additional responsibilities of the Cancer Center!
