Numerous CNO changes announced within Banner
Several facilities are welcoming new chief nursing officers (CNO) to their leadership teams:
Sheri Dahlstrom, RN, has been named CNO for Banner Desert Medical Center and Cardon Children's Medical Center. Dahlstrom will assume her new position on Jan. 23. Dahlstrom brings extensive leadership experience including more than 10 years with Banner. For the last nine years, she has held the position of CNO at Banner Mesa Medical Center and Banner Gateway Medical Center where she was actively involved in the planning/development of new facilities, program growth and development, quality management and patient experience.
Cathy Townsend, RN, has been named interim CNO for Banner Gateway and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Townsend helped open Banner Ironwood as its CNO in 2010. Prior to that she served as director of nursing in the Women’s and Infants Services department at Banner Baywood Medical Center. She will assume her new position on Jan. 23. Ethel Utter, RN has been named interim CNO for Banner Ironwood. These interim assignments are expected to last for three to six months.
Sue Kelley, RN, has been named CNO for Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center. Kelley currently serves as associate administrator for Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and will begin in her new role on Feb. 6. Before joining Banner Health, Kelley was the vice president for Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer for John C. Lincoln Hospital North Mountain and successfully led Lincoln's journey toward Magnet status.
