Pathology Section Chief named for Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center
Kevin McCabe, D.O., has been named Pathology Section Chief at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center.
"Dr. McCabe has extensive experience in the clinical laboratory diagnosis of cancer," said Edgardo Rivera, MD, medical director for Banner MD Anderson. "His expertise and knowledge will ensure the highest quality laboratory testing and diagnosis for cancer center patients."
Dr. McCabe will serve as the laboratory medical director and chairman of the department of pathology for Banner MD Anderson and Banner Gateway Medical Center.
Dr. McCabe most recently served as the medical laboratory director for Banner Baywood Medical Center and the Banner Health microbiology department in Mesa. He has significant experience in surgical and medical oncology, including serving as director of surgical pathology fellowships at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, a primary cancer referral center for the US Air Force and US Department of Defense, and The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he was also on faculty.
Dr. McCabe completed his fellowship in anatomic pathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center and his residency in anatomic/clinical pathology at Wilford Hall Medical Center. He received his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Pomona, CA.
