Peter Fine listed among "100 Most Influential People in Health Care"
Banner Health President and CEO Peter S. Fine is listed among the nation’s "100 Most Influential People in Healthcare," released Aug. 23 by Modern Healthcare, a weekly business publication covering the health care industry. This recognition comes just days after it was announced that Banner Health received the 2011 “Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare” Award by the national trade publication, HealthLeaders, another leading provider of health care business information for industry executives.
The magazine received 414,000 nominations, which were culled to 300 for the final ballot for the recognition program. The selection of the Top 100 is a combination of reader votes and votes by senior editors of Modern Healthcare.
Other notable names on the list include:
- Paul Ryan, U.S. representative (R-Wis.), chairman of the House Budget Committee, Washington
- Barack Obama, President of the United States, Washington
- Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary, HHS, Washington
- William Weldon, Chairman and CEO, Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J.
“I’m honored to be recognized among such a prestigious group of industry leaders who I admire, but I would not be on the list if it weren’t for the hard work and dedication of the entire Banner Health leadership team who work tirelessly to serve our patients and make Banner a successful organization that has the ability to influence health care beyond our operations,” said Peter S. Fine, president and CEO.
