PHOENIX (April 1, 2015) – As the flu and cold season winds down, Banner Health has lifted visitor restrictions at all of its facilities. Restrictions for the 2014-2015 cold and flu season were implemented last Oct. 1; a little earlier than expected because of the outbreak of Enterovirus D68 across the nation.
Nine Banner Health hospitals earn ‘Top Performer’ recognition for clinical quality, patient safety
PHOENIX (Nov. 18, 2014) – The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States, has announced that nine Banner Health hospitals in three states have been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®. These Banner facilities were recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and/or Surgical Care. The Banner facilities are among 1,224 hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2013 Top Performer distinction.
Banner Gateway and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center receive over 1,600 cases of water for Salvation Army project
GILBERT, Ariz. – Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center recently received a donation of more than 1,600 cases of water to benefit the Salvation Army. This amount trumps the initial goal of collecting at least 250 cases.

Banner Health pilots program to reduce hospital readmissions
GILBERT, Ariz. (April 5, 2012) –Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner Home Care are piloting a home monitoring program which has proven to reduce hospital readmissions and better coordinate care after a patient is discharged from the hospital.
