Banner Health offers acupuncture to help healing and control pain on the campus of our Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ.
Acupuncture is the most common procedure practiced within traditional Chinese medicine. Acupuncture is a means of adjusting the body’s life energy through the insertion of fine needles into carefully selected acupuncture points. These needles are then manipulated to stimulate the flow of energy and remove blockages.
How does it work?
Acupuncture increases blood flow to speed healing, and stimulate hormonal changes such as increasing the body’s natural pain modulators (endorphins).
The basic philosophy in Chinese Medicine is “where there is flow there is no pain, where there is pain there is no flow.” Acupuncture assists in the free flow of energy and helps to keep the body in balance.
