Emergency Services at Banner Gateway Medical Center
The Emergency department at Banner Gateway Medical Center is proud to serve the emergency care needs of residents in the East Valley. Featuring board-certified emergency physicians, specially trained nurses and support staff, Banner Gateway’s next-generation Emergency department is well-equipped to diagnose and treat an array of illnesses and injuries. We are committed to treating medical emergencies thoroughly and efficiently.
At Banner Gateway, we recognize that emergencies are not planned and are often stressful situations. Therefore, we work hard to make sure visits to our Emergency department go as smoothly and quickly as possible.
To best serve our patients, Banner Gateway uses a process that ensures patients receive the most appropriate care as quickly as possible.
- Patients experiencing less emergent injuries or illnesses first receive a rapid assessment before being directed to specific treatment areas inside the Emergency department. They may be directed to an area for additional diagnostic tests or discharged after seeing a physician or physician’s assistant.
- Please remember that patients with serious injuries or illnesses are given priority over other patients. As a result, the time from arrival to seeing a physician may vary based on the types of illnesses or injuries patients present, as well as the total number of patients.
- Communication is vital to ensuring successful treatment in the Emergency department. Interpreter services are available at all Banner facilities; please ask your nurse or the Emergency department receptionist about these services.
