audio:  Herb- Hello, this is Herb Geary.

audio:  Brenda- Hello this is Brenda Kelly, chair of the Magnet Commission.

audio:  Herb- Good afternoon.

audio:  Brenda- How are you today?

image:  The camera zooms in on Herb and Deborah.

audio:  Herb- Good.

audio:  Brenda-  Great.  Who is with you?

audio:  Audience in the room cheers.

audio:  Brenda- Just a few of your good friends.

audio:  Herb- I'm here with Debi Boyle, our Magnet coordinator, and a few hundred of our closest friends.

audio:  Brenda- Hello, everyone.

audio:  Audience- Hi.

audio:  Brenda- It's really good to call you today and speak with you.  I've always enjoyed this part of my Magnet Commission role.  I'm pleased to let you know that the Magnet Commission met last week by telephone conference and we did receive your appraisal document and we reviewed your information that was submitted and I'm really glad to tell you that we have designated your hospital as a Magnet hospital.

audio:  Audience cheers and celebrates.

audio:  Herb- OK, you can proceed.

image:  The camera returns to being on Herb and Debbie.

audio:  Brenda- What's left to say?  It really is exciting to become a Magnet organization and it's no small feat to achieve this status.  As most of you know that worked on this whole project, it takes years to build a culture that can achieve a Magnet award so you have a lot to be proud of.  Additionally, there are approximately 6,000 hospitals in the United States and less than 2 percent of them have been designated Magnet organizations so you are one of a very elite group.

audio:  Audience claps and cheers.

audio:  Brenda- And finally I want to make sure I let you know that we will be having our annual conference in Miami [Florida] this fall and you will be recognized during the ceremony as achieving Magnet status.  We always recognize all the organizations that have joined us in the previous year and it's really quite a party so I hope that someone from your organization can be there.

audio:  Herb- Well, thank you very much it's terrific news and you have made everybody's day here.

audio:  Brenda- I'm so glad.  Congratulations everyone you have a lot to be proud of. Bye-bye.
