Feb 20: Being engaged
As we start 2014, we have a lot to be proud of regarding what was learned in 2013. The most important thing we learned is the simple fact that we all need to commit to be engaged and contribute.
I’d like each one of us to pause and ask this simple question: "Do I feel excited about contributing to activities that improve care for our patients at Good Sam? Does my leader invite me to contribute to these possibilities?” Our future vision of elevating and differentiating Good Sam starts with you.
One of the easiest ways to get involved is to ask your leader about the 2014 Performance Improvement goal for your department. You should be contributing to what the goal is for this year.
Together we are taking a journey to teach each other how to use basic tools for performance improvement. The future for Good Sam is bright … together we will create better processes and structures so our patients are safer and receive highly coordinated care at all times.
I look forward to this year’s VOICE survey as I’m confident you will tell a different a story ... a story of more engagement and improved leadership effectiveness.
