Jan. 6: What's ahead for 2014
So what does 2014 have in store for us? Here are four major focus areas:
1) We will hear more about how we are developing Institutes as our structure and that the marketplace will learn Banner Good Samaritan's unique story of differentiated, clinical care delivered by world-class faculty. We will also learn more about potential medical school affiliations as we continue our transformation into a well-recognized Academic Medical Center.
2. Every department will have at least one Performance Improvement Project. Each project will have a PI expert to help guide the process. Another goal is that at least 50 percent of our employees are trained in the fundamental tools in Performance Improvement. This commitment will allow BGSMC to differentiate itself as a medical center known for its culture of continual improvement, improving hand-offs or improving on-time starts in the OR.
3. Leaders will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in how to financially manage their departments so they can improve productivity and costs per unit service. There will be organized modules led by our CFO and Finance Department to help guide the process. Please sign up for these opportunities to learn and grown in this area.
4. Focus on Leadership Effectiveness: Every one of you deserves a great leader and we need a culture where we grow leaders every day. In 2014, we are making a significant investment in our leadership-development programs so leaders at every level can grow to their potential.
As you see, 2014 will continue to tell the story of BGSMC as a Place of Possibilities with a culture of learning, growing and improving. What a privilege it is to be part of this unique story at 12th and McDowell……
Happy New Year!
