July 1: Perioperative Physician Advisory Council
So it’s 7:30 a.m. on a Tuesday ... and what are these surgeons and perioperative nurse leaders doing, all huddling together?
They are all members of our Perioperative Physician Advisory Council that kicked off two weeks ago. This is an advisory council focused on engaging our surgeons who are focused on revitalizing our Perioperative department at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center.
We are committed to rebuilding our Perioperative department with a focus on ensuring that we deliver a highly reliable, efficient, timely and patient-centered product for every surgical subspecialty, so that the best surgeons in the Valley choose to make Banner Good Sam their home for patient care.
If you are interested in contributing to the Possibilities of Improvement in our Perioperative department, please contact Davey Ellison for more information.
Along with our Perioperative Physician Advisory Council, we also have a committed focus by our Perioperative department schedulers who have visited more than 100 surgical offices in the past few months to make sure that every office has access to a newly designed fax scheduling system. They want to make sure that surgeons are able to schedule their patients in an efficient and timely manner.
We believe that the state and region’s most complex patients need to be cared for at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Arizona’s best hospital. With the team we have working on improvements, the Possibilities are endless and the future is indeed bright.
Steve Narang, MD, is the chief executive officer at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center.
