Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center recipient of the 2005 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award
October 26, 2005 – The Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA) awarded Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center the 2005 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.
The American Psychological Association and state associations created the award to honor companies and organizations for innovative programs and policies that support psychologically healthy work environments. This award distinguishes leading employers who see the critical link between employee health, well-being, productivity and the financial bottom line. Increasingly, employers are investing in their most valuable asset — their employees — and demonstrating commitment to employee psychological health and well-being by:
- Implementing practices beneficial to employee health and safety
- Providing opportunities for employee development
- Encouraging employees to participate in decisions that affect their jobs
- Implementing family-friendly policies
The AzPA Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award screening committee voted to recognize Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center for best practices in all four categories. In addition, committee members found noteworthy that Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center’s employs a full-time employee support coordinator.
