PHOENIX (October, 2003) - Kenny Williamson, a long time Banner Health employee, won a gold medal for his division at the Special Olympics National Golf Tournament in Florida.
"My long game was on," said Williamson. "I was hitting 150 to 200 yards down the fairway," he added.
The 195 Special Olympic golfers from 29 states played round-robin style, which is played in foursomes where two player teams change partners every six holes. |
The round is divided into three six-hole matches that allows each player to play with a different partner in each of the three matches.

"I did the best job I could do. I met friends and had a great time," said Williamson. "I didn't expect to win gold and I wasn't out to beat my competition, just my score," he added. Out of three days of nine-hole golf, Kenny shot a 216. Congratulations Kenny!
