Cancer Research and Clinical Trials
Cancer research is a continuous, ever-evolving process. Participation in clinical trials benefits patients, physicians and researchers alike.
Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Arizona's largest hospital, is involved in a number of clinical trials.
Banner Good Samaritan also participates in the Oncology Data Management system, a confidential information registry that logs treatment-related data on all new cancer patients, to increase our effectiveness and help better understand the cancer care process.
Information including patient demographics, cancer identification, treatment modalities, and patient outcomes is collected, analyzed and forwarded to medical professionals at the state and national level. This system complies with federal patient privacy laws and serves to help our hospital and others to learn from each patient’s experience.
