Inpatient services
For patients requiring hospitalization, a 22-bed secured unit is available on the sixth floor of the hospital's West Tower. These patients are 18 years or older, and require inpatient evaluation and treatment of traditional psychiatric illnesses or behavioral complications that may be associated with physical problems or aging.
Patients receive a thorough assessment, followed by rapid stabilization of symptoms. This is done in a medically sophisticated, home-like environment.
Couple and family participation are encouraged when medically appropriate. This includes counseling and education regarding mental and emotional illness.
Oupatient services
The Outpatient service of the Behavioral Health Center is a key resource in the central Phoenix area. More than 12,000 patients are seen annually.
We accept most major health insurance plans and offer a sliding-scale fee to qualified patients in the Psychiatry residency program.
Like the inpatient program, couple and family participation are encouraged when medically appropriate.
