Pre-Surgical Assessment Clinic
![]() |
The Pre-Surgical Assessment Clinic at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center allows the hospitalist to participate early with the surgeon and primary-care physician to develop a plan of care for the patient's best outcome. For example, more than one-third of our hip and knee replacement and almost one-half of our open heart patients are anemic (with low blood counts) before surgery. Patients who are not anemic do better after surgery. Therefore, adequate time for treatment is essential to correct this problem before surgery.
Your physician believes that you will benefit from this strategy. Please feel free to ask the hospitalist about your individual plan of care.
We look forward to helping you improve your surgical outcome and thus demonstrate our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care.
