Grace Middlebrook Family Learning Center

The Grace Middlebrook Family Learning Center provides patients and families with up-to-date research and fact sheets on a variety of health topics.

The Learning Center is staffed with a registered nurse educator and medical librarian who research and distribute health information from a variety of sources. Special software and other equipment enable guests with visual or hearing impairments to access valuable information. Brochures, books, and pamphlets are available to the public in both English and Spanish.

We can help visitors who need information about a specific medical condition. We have four computers with Internet access, interactive educational models, health care and popular magazines, a book exchange, and TVs for video viewing.

The 700-square-foot Middlebrook Family Learning Center is in the main lobby next to the healing garden. This serene environment offers a quiet place to browse, search the web, read or relax.

All are welcome
The Middlebrook Family Learning Center was created to help patients and their family members have a tranquil place to learn about health and specific disease processes. Our library works with the Merril W. Brown, MD, Health and Sciences Library, which has additional resources available for physicians, residents, and nurses. This information is also available for patients and family members on request.

The Family Learning Center is named in honor of the late Grace Middlebrook, a nurse and educator, who dedicated more than three decades to providing clinical education to nurses and patients at Banner Good Samaritan. The center is indebted to the Nurses’ Alumni Association for their contribution to this project.
