Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center is a nationally known center for high-risk obstetrics—the care of mothers and fetuses at-risk for health complications such as pre-term labor, preeclampsia, diabetes and placenta previa, during pregnancy and birth.
Women come from around the nation to receive care from our perinatologists (physicians who specialize in high-risk obstetrics), nurses and other health professionals.
If your physician determines that you need to be hospitalized during your pregnancy, we have a dedicated Antepartum unit to care for you, whether for days, weeks or even months before your delivery.
We recognize the stress that hospitalization can cause to you and your family and will do our best to minimize it. We will work to coordinate your care and keep you informed so that you can focus on the important work of bringing your baby (or babies!) into the world.
We are certified as a Level III Perinatal Center by the Arizona Perinatal Trust, and care for patients with obstetrical medical conditions at all gestational ages.
Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides the same high level of care for your baby if needed. The NICU is on the same floor as our Labor Delivery and Recovery suites.
Our highly experienced physicians and staff members, including RNs who are nationally certified in obstetrics, provide expertise in a variety of specialties including:
- High-risk obstetrics (diabetes, pre-eclampsia, placenta accreta, placenta previa, pre-term labor, high-order multiples, maternal or fetal genetic disorders, teen pregnancies, pregnancy over the age of 35, infectious disease, auto-immune disorders).
- Fetal conditions requiring fetal therapy
- Critical care obstetrics (respiratory distress, heart failure, renal issues, stroke, sepsis)
