Ways to Give to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center

Be a Volunteer at Banner Good Samaritan!

At Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, our volunteers are an important part of our team. We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals to volunteer four hours a week.

Each year, volunteers donate thousands of hours and talent to our medical center and generate funds that benefit Banner Good Sam programs and services through the fund-raising efforts of the gift shop and other special sale events.

We require all our applicants to complete a thorough application, interview and background research process. This process could take up to three weeks.

We ask all our volunteers for a service commitment of at least 100 hours within six months or one shift per week, approximately four hours in length.

The interview also will provide you with information on current volunteer options within the hospital, to help you determine a day and time of the week for your regular volunteer shift.

TB Test and Immunization Records
All volunteers are required to complete a free health screening, including a two-step tuberculosis (TB) skin test. If you have ever tested positive for TB, you will need to have a physician’s statement indicating the results of your most recent chest X-ray. Banner Health offers these health screenings free through its Occupational Health clinics, located on the Banner Good Samaritan campus.

You will be required to provide immunization records during the health screening. If you do not have proof of these immunizations, Occupational Health will draw labs to determine if any vaccines are needed.

The health screenings are MANDATORY as they provide Banner Good Samaritan with vital health information to best protect our patients, and our volunteers, from disease. If you have questions about the Health Screening, please call the Occupational Health Office at (602) 839-4456.

Volunteer Orientation
Volunteer orientations are scheduled typically two or three times per month. Each volunteer is required to attend orientation before they are placed in their volunteer position.  Orientations are generally held Tuesdays or Thursdays from either 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Identification Badge and Uniform

The uniform top will be provided for you however you will be required to purchase a pair of stone colored Khaki pants to complete the uniform.
