A new procedure to relieve atrial fibrillation in the heart will begin clinical trials in Arizona at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. The Cryo System Trial Of Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (STOP AF) trial is being conducted at 28 hospitals across the United States and Canada. The trial uses liquid nitrous oxide to freeze areas of the heart, rather than burning the heart wall.
