Great people
- The nurses were exemplary in their knowledge, skill, and kindness. They went out of their way to explain everything and even spent time talking with me about my family/interest and theirs. This became a source of relaxation to me. I wish I could remember every name and for that reason I hesitate to name a few but they all congratulated or hugged or clapped when I was released. It was like leaving wonderful old friends. Also, the facility was immaculate.
- Every employee I met had a smile on their face and a kind word to say.
- The laboratory personnel and echocardiogram specialists, like all the nurses, were knowledgeable and explained everything that was going on to my complete satisfaction.
- I don't know how you've accomplished such wonderful things at your hospital but your staff is doing everything right!
- When my husband came out of surgery, I was allowed into the CVICU and found the nurse sitting right there inside my husband's room. I saw that the desk is right outside and she could have sat there and looked into the window – but she was right in there with him. I felt so confident and knew that nothing would distract her from taking care of my husband!
- I just want to take this opportunity to let you know how very much I and my family were pleased with your hospital and staff. I had a severe heart attack and, although I don't remember any thing about the emergency room, the staff there did an exceptional job. They brought me back to life and on my way to a full recovery. My husband and daughter raved and raved about my care in the CVICU – it was Manuel this – Manuel that every day. Sorry I don't know his last name, but just wanted to let you know how dedicated to his work he is and what a good job he does. He gave me all the attention I needed, but most importantly, he put my husband and daughter at ease.
- Everyone was great – Jackie, Pauline and many more. I received nothing but the best care in the five days I was in the ICU and after I was moved to telemetry. We have told everyone about your great hospital and staff! I hope I never have to experience your good care again, but if I do, at least know that I will be getting the very best care. If you ever need someone to attest to your facility and staff, do not hesitate to call on me. Again, thank you.
- While I was in the hospital, my heart started racing and they came in with the code cart. I looked up and saw two of your 'Guardians' in the room taking care of me. I felt so comforted by that. I knew everything would be fine!
- The aids were kind, jovial and professional all at the same time. I can't forget the transport employees since they were the last that I saw before leaving Banner Heart Hospital. I felt safe in their care and had several good laughs.
- I wanted to thank Dr. Chatham and the Cath Lab team for their excellent care. I also wanted to thank the fourth floor (professionals), who provided such good care, including Dr. Pesari, Bernie H., Scott N., Kensey C. and Chris M. I was very afraid while I was there, and everyone provided excellent care and helped me through the fear.
- I recently brought my wife to your hospital. All your employees are exceptional, wonderful, kind and hardworking people. From housekeeping, the aides, therapists, the nurses, and especially the girls who serve the food (including the women in CVICU), everyone was simply wonderful. I hope this hospital sets an example of all hospitals in the area. You can be proud of your staff; I am. Keep up the good work.
- My husband was recently admitted to your hospital for bypass surgery. I want to give my thanks for all concerned: nurses, staff, administration and kitchen staff. The aides who took him to surgery waiting were so kind and when they left, they touched his shoulder and said they would pray for him. The next day when we went to see him they remembered us and asked how the surgery went. They said they would continue to pray for him.
- My dad had a heart attack and triple bypass (emergency) yesterday. He is doing well, while still in ICU. Absolutely everyone that we have come in contact with these last two days have been wonderful - friendly, helpful, always remembering names - from the volunteers to the nurses to the doctors. I can't say how much these little courtesies can make such a difference in a difficult situation. I want to say a big THANKS to everyone.
-
From the time we entered the hospital to when we left, I felt such caring hearts from everyone I met. I appreciate all those angels in nursing as well as all the others who took care of my husband, myself, and my daughters while we waited.
-
When my husband was a patient, I must tell you how fearful it was for our family.
-
All the wonderful staff helped calm our fears and by word and actions showed that my husband was in a hospital that treats the entire family with loving care.
-
I have nothing but sincere compliments for the Heart Hospital. I appreciate the way nurses, doctors and all staff have treated my husband. Thanks for being here in our time of needing help. God bless you all. My prayers are with you and this hospital. All the staff from the doctors to the nurses, technicians and even the volunteers have been wonderful. They have made my husband's surgery experience and my waiting experience as good as an experience like this can be.
Unique patient-centered programs
- The visit by Tiny, the Pet Therapy dog was a definite highlight and although I cried during his visit, they were tears of joy. He cuddled next to me in the bed and I couldn't have been happier. I apologize for forgetting his owner's name, but she was a joy to talk to also.
- The Life Story volunteer, Jayne Ryan, helped take my mind off the illness. I felt so good during her visit that I actually thought I was getting better. Unfortunately, I still needed more IV medications to bring my heart rate down, but you would never have guessed it the way we were laughing about my life story. This was also the perfect time to write a note to my family telling them something I wanted them to know in case I were to die. One more thing I could relax about.
- I signed up for the Partner in Care program and it helped my husband's anxiety a lot and I never felt like I was in the way.
Patient-focused environment
- I was at Banner Heart Hospital. The nursing staff treated me like family. My surgery was on the 23rd and the next day was my 35th wedding anniversary. The entire staff on duty in the CVICU gave my wife and I an anniversary card and a gift of movie tickets to use to have a more romantic 35th anniversary. Words cannot express my gratitude for the care I received. I truly felt from "the heart" that they were part of my family. They not only took care of me but the took care of my wife who was an emotional basket case.
- This hospital is very quiet and calm. I like the fact that there is a volunteer sitting in the lobbies always ready to help you find your way. I felt like a princess.
- Many thanks for the wonderful care here in the Heart Hospital! I was treated like a queen by the nurses, aids, and food handlers. They were warm, friendly and very helpful. It would be impossible to get better care than I had! Many thanks!
- While I was in the waiting room (waiting for my husband to get out of surgery), the nurse called me two times to let me know how my husband was doing. I can't tell you what that meant to me. When she told me he was off the heart lung machine – those were the best words I could have imagined.
- When they took him to surgery, the nurses invited us to have breakfast with them on the patio. As we were returning to the waiting room, a woman from administration approached us and asked if we had someone in the hospital. We said yes, he was in surgery. When we were leaving the hospital later that night, the same women approached us in the parking garage and asked how the surgery went. She said she would continue to pray for him.
- When we entered the hospital the next day, the same aides who had taken him to surgery approached us and asked about his condition. I felt this same kind and caring manner throughout his stay. When they brought him his lunch, I asked for directions to the deli. A short time later, the girl brought me a complimentary lunch. While we were waiting for surgery to be over, we were getting a bit nervous at how long it was taking. The next thing I knew, the nurse called and stated the doctor had asked her to call and tell us that they were just about finished and that he would be taken to CVICU in about an hour.
- From the time we entered, until we left, we were treated with the utmost courtesy by all the staff. Without exception, they were professional, courteous and helpful. They did their very best to make this procedure an almost pleasant experience.
- I want to express my sincere thanks for the care and treatment I received from all the staff in the Heart Hospital. I also want to thank them for the warm and caring communication they gave to my family during my stay. We were all extremely impressed with the service given by everyone there!
- The time that I spent in the hospital was very stressful for my family and me. The care and treatment I received alleviated that stress for all of us. I cannot conceive of ever having better care at any other place. The compassion and good feeling shown by all was outstanding!
- I was very pleased with the facilities and service provided by both professionals and volunteers here! My family was kept very comfortable; the waiting rooms here are the best I've ever seen! The whole experience, although under unfortunate terms, was much better and much more comfortable than expected! Thanks for everything!
