The Heart Rhythm Center treats all types of cardiac arrhythmias using traditional options such as medication, pacemakers and defibrillators, to more sophisticated procedures. The minimally invasive Sensei® X Robotic Catheter System is used by our electrophysiologists to give patients another tool to avoid a life-long regime of medication therapies to manage their arrhythmia.
A clinical trial now gives area residents the unique opportunity to test a devise which alerts patients to severe heart rhythm problems before symptoms occur. The Angel Med pacemaker is implanted under the skin and alerts patients by pager whether they should go the Emergency Department or call 9-1-1. It has already saved lives and gives patients peace of mind.
