Surgical Area

At Banner Heart Hospital, there are three departments that will help care for you during your surgery:

Pre-op Holding
You will be escorted to this area after reporting to admitting.

Operating Room
This state-of-the-art facility has six operating room (CVOR) suites and five cardiac catheterization labs, including a dedicated electrophysiology lab.

Sterile Processing Department (SPD)
The Sterile Processing Department is a little-known hospital entity. These sterilization professionals are dedicated to ensuring that all of the instruments, equipment and supplies used in the operating room are completely germ-free and sterile for all surgeries performed.
