Maternity Services

The compassionate physicians and staff at Banner Ironwood understand that having a baby is an exciting time for a family. We are committed to providing holistic, individualized care in a family-centered environment. Part of that commitment includes following a couplet-care model that enables mothers and babies to be cared for together whenever possible, with family and friends involved as much as the patient desires.

We ensure the highest level of safety for mothers and babies by leveraging the latest medical technologies such as PeriBirth, an innovative system proven to reduce complications during childbirth by maximizing best-practice procedures and protocols via a robust electronic medical record system.

Labor & Delivery
The hospital’s second floor is dedicated to Women and Infant Services. Upon arrival, patients are assessed in an OB triage room or labor and delivery suite. Our OB operating suites are used for Cesarean (C-section) deliveries or when surgical intervention is otherwise necessary.

After Delivery
Following delivery, new mothers are moved to private postpartum recovery suites, which are large enough to accommodate mother, baby and family. These rooms include private bathrooms, couches that convert to beds, flat screen televisions, wireless internet access and patient room service.

Flexible visiting hours for maternity patients ensure family and friends can help celebrate the happy occasion.

Level II Special Care Nursery/Newborn Care
From individualized care provided by highly skilled physicians and nurses to robust security systems, we go to great lengths to ensure the health and safety of our newborn patients. Our state-of-the-art nursery delivers expert care for babies who require more medical attention than can be provided in the mother’s room.

Included among our many services for newborns are Metabolic Screening, Pulse Oximetry and Newborn Hearing exams for all babies, circumcision services offered daily by our experienced pediatricians, and onsite photo services available through Our365, a noted in-hospital newborn photography services provider.
