Dr. Donald Schomer, Diagnostic Imaging Section Chief
Dr. Schomer’s patient care and leadership experience at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will enable Banner MD Anderson to provide a similar patient experience in Arizona.
Dr. Schomer most recently served as a neuroradiologist with Radiology Imaging Associates in Denver, Colo. He worked from 1994 to 2002 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, serving as director of neurointerventional radiology (1998-2002), medical director for the Radiology Outpatient Center (2000-2002), and an associate professor of Radiology.
Dr. Schomer received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of Houston.
He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, along with a fellowship in neuroradiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He also received an MBA from Rice University in 2000. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology with a certificate of added qualifications in neuroradiology.
