Audio:  “Peter, with our Banner employees, you’ve been very open in discussing your experience with cancer and you did have your treatment at M. D. Anderson.  Can you briefly discuss that experience?”

Image:  Peter Fine on-camera, speaking.

Audio:  “First, I probably should say that our discussions with M. D. Anderson have gone for almost two years prior to my diagnosis, so there’s no relationship between this arrangement and anything that was going on with me physically that occurred over the last half of last year.  This has been a long-term discussion with them.”

Audio:  “While I had the opportunity to consider getting some of those services locally, it was with some local input from my own physicians that, because of what I had going on with me, they really felt that going to M. D. Anderson was the safest and the best option for me to take physically.  And so I began to interact with them as a patient -[laughs]-  rather than as a business relationship …about July of last year.  And I went through a period of about six months of dealing with my own particular diagnosis and found it as an organization that’s very true to its words:…”

Peter Fine VO:  “… a very caring organization…”

Audio:  “…and people that were highly focused on dealing with you as a person”.

Peter Fine VO:  “I didn’t feel like I was a number.  It clearly felt like I was a patient.”

Audio:  “I was very impressed with the research activities that were going on there, the opportunities for me to participate in research or to participate in various clinical trials that were available within that organization that were not readily available in the local marketplace…”

Peter Fine VO:  “… because there were unique clinical trials that they were doing.”

Audio:  “And I found the interaction to be very, very positive, very easy to deal with, very thoughtful people to deal with, and ones that were really focused on battling this very significant disease.”
