Meals and Nutrition
At Banner Olive Branch Senior Center, we understand the importance of tasty, nutritious and convenient meals.
Our chef is excellent at selecting the best ingredients to come up with meals that will make you want to come back again and again. Meals are prepared fresh daily Monday through Friday by our chef in the Banner Olive Branch Senior Center kitchen.
Menus are approved by a registered dietician. We offer:

- Meals brought to your home: Two ways to get hot home-delivered meals
- Curbside Pick-Up and Take Out Meals
- Pantry and food box programs: Please ask.
There are two ways for seniors to get hot meals brought to their homes:

For seniors who qualify, The Banner Olive Branch Senior Center can deliver a hot meal to your home Monday through Friday between 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.
Typical Hot Lunch:
Every Friday, a contribution envelope will be delivered with the meal. Donations are strictly confidential so you don’t need to put your name on the envelope. Banner Olive Branch Senior Center also offers a second type of home-delivered meals.
We can deliver to your home two meals a day, Monday through Friday, for $8.
You will receive one hot noon meal and one sack dinner. Both meals will be delivered at the same time -- BETWEEN 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Please be prepared to receive your meal delivery and sign your name on the driver's delivery sheet.
Cost of Mobile Meals
Meal delivery for one person is $8 per day, $40 per week - Monday through Friday delivery.
For two people the cost is $7 per person per day, $70 per week.
A minimum of two weeks is requested.
If you cancel a meal, giving us 24 hours notice, you will be given a credit for that day.
Receiving your Meals
Regardless of which meal plan you choose, there are some simple rules to follow.
- Please be prepared to receive your meal and to sign your name on the delivery sheet.
- We need your signature daily. No one else can sign for you unless your case manager informs us that you are unable to sign for yourself.
- We CANNOT leave the meal with anyone else but you, so please do not ask us to leave it on the doorstep or with a neighbor.
How do I cancel my meal if I won’t be home?
If you won’t be home to receive your meal, please telephone the Senior Center as soon as possible.

We need at least 24 hours notice so we can change the meal count and notify the kitchen. If you cannot give us advance notice due to an emergency, please call us as soon as possible, so that the delivery person does not have to drive to your home.
For Home Delivered Meals clients - If you are not home for two (2) consecutive days, your meals will be put on hold and you will need to contact your case manager to get them restarted.
Instructions for Meal Storage
We encourage you to enjoy your meal as soon as it is delivered; however, if this is not possible, please store your meal in the refrigerator. When you are ready to eat, re-heat your metal container in your oven, not your microwave.
The cold foods (in bag) will stay cold in in your refrigerator until you need them.
Please call us if you have any questions regarding proper storage of your meal.
What if I have a comment on the food?
We welcome your comments. You may tell the delivery person, write us a note or call the Center. Your comments will be given to the Menu Committee and Chef for review. Compliments as well as complaints are appreciated, we love hearing from you! You are always welcome to attend the Center for lunch or any of our programs.
