Banner Poison Control Center and the Critter Crawl Family Fun Walk
Each year in Maricopa County, more than 15,000 people are bitten or stung by rattlesnakes, scorpions, spiders and other pesky critters.  But, did you know that more than 15,000 children under the age of 3, and over 20,000 adults over the age of 20, are poisoned on an annual basis?

The Banner Poison Control Center provides 24-hour emergency telephone service for residents and medical professionals throughout the state of Arizona. Callers are connected to a highly-trained nurse who can recognize and assess poisonings, and provide rapid access to poison and drug information, first aid and treatment recommendations 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

The Critter Crawl provides the Hotline with funding to ensure that we are able to continue our nonprofit mission of caring for individuals who are exposed to poisonous animals, plants and substances.

About the Banner Poison Control Center
The nonprofit Banner Poison Control Center was established in 1979 by the late Donald B. Kunkel, M.D. Serving all of Arizona, the Poison Center relies on state funding, United Way, grants from private agencies and, most importantly, individuals like you.

Every year, more than 100,000 calls (nearly 20,000 involving young children) come into the Banner Poison Control Center Hotline and are answered by nurses trained specifically in toxicology medicine.
