Our Program
At Banner Special Adults Residence, Natvig House, our residents are encouraged to participate in the normal, daily activities of the residence and of life.
We take the time to learn and understand individual needs and abilities of each resident .
Residents are encourged to learn social and domestic skills appropriate to their abilities. They join in preparing meals, doing their laundry, and pitching in with any other household chores. There’s also some relaxation from games, television and reading.
We promote personal dignity and respect, and residents are encouraged to be part of their community. Some residents volunteer at the nearby Banner Alzheimer's Residence or other community organizations. Some work outside the home, either at a sheltered workshop or other business. All residents take part in Scysac, a local activities group for the developmentally disabled.
To broaden their social interaction, residents conduct bake sales and plant sales to raise money for vacation outings, such as trips to Disneyland.
