BTMC NEWS TO NOTE
Compliant Document Management Program (CDMP)
The Compliant Documentation Management Program is a clinical approach to improving documentation and managing DRG assignments on a concurrent basis. The CDMP team works closely with physicians to ensure complete, compliant medical record documentation which accurately reflects the complexity and severity and utilization of resources of our patients’ illnesses. Because coding data is increasingly utilized to measure hospital and physician performance, and because coding language requirements are different from clinical-thought process, active participation in the DRG assignment process is necessary.
Take Advantage of our Online Physician Referral Services
Banner Health has redesigned its physician referral database (the 230-CARE Program) to ensure that prospective patients are provided timely and accurate information when searching for a physician. To make this happen, a new database has been built using updated information provided by Banner Health physicians who qualify and request to participate in the revised the 230-CARE Program. All qualified physicians who submit a Physician Provider Profile will be included. For more information, please go to https://www.bannerhealth.com/PhysicianProfile/ or call (602) 230-CARE.

Banner Health begins online pre-registration for hospital services
Banner Health is now offering your patients the convenience of online pre-registration. Online pre-registration is just one more way we are working to ensure patient visits run as smoothly as possible and we fulfill our commitment to our nonprofit mission of providing excellent patient care.
Patients whom you refer to a Banner Health facility for an appointment, test, screening or procedure, have the convenience of pre-registering using our secure, online pre-registration system at www.BannerHealth.com, keyword “pre-registration.”
By pre-registering online, your patients provide their contact, demographic and insurance information in advance. It's convenient for them and allows them to do it from the comfort of their home or office. This pre-registration process allows our staff time to verify insurance eligibility and pre-certification ahead of time, which will speed up the registration process, and decrease waiting time for your patients when they check-in at the hospital. Our online pre-registration system is secure so patient personal information is protected and will be kept confidential.
Please tell your patients that they must complete and submit their online pre-registration form at least 48 hours prior to their scheduled visit.
Online pre-registration is an additional option; patients who choose not to use the online system will be contacted by someone from our staff via phone before to their appointment to initiate the process.
If you or your patients have a question about online pre-registration, please contact our Patient Registration department at 602-865-5633.

SPECIALTY CONSULTATIONS at BTMC
Physicians at BTMC may choose to consult any specialist on staff. In general, however, specialists at BTMC are not obligated to respond to requests for consultation. Direct contact with a specialist is highly encouraged to both build relationships and facilitate care. This may be required when the staff meets obstacles trying to get a consultant to respond. When a consultation is urgent or emergent, direct communication is expected.

UpToDate: answers to your clinical questions at the point of care
Banner Health has purchased a subscription to UpToDate, a comprehensive evidence-based clinical resource designed to provide physicians and clinicians with concise, practical answers when they are needed most - at the point of care. Now you can get to UpToDate from any Banner computer.
The evidence-based information in UpToDate, written and updated quarterly by a faculty of physician experts, is peer-reviewed and includes differential diagnoses with key details to help distinguish between conditions. Additionally, recommendations are detailed, including medications as well as doses.
Banner has arranged for an UpToDate representative, Nicole LaCasse, to coordinate discounted UpToDate group subscriptions for those interested in accessing UpToDate from their clinics or homes. Ms. LaCasse can be reached at nlacasse@uptodate.com (858) 945-2763.
