It's the goal of every employee, volunteer and physician at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center to deliver excellent patient care.
When patients, their families or friends feel a hospital employee, physician or volunteer has gone "above and beyond," they can recognize those individuals in one of two ways: through our WOW cards or by contacting the hospital's Patient Relations department.
WOW Appreciation Cards are used to express one's appreciation toward a Banner Thunderbird employee, volunteer or physician. The cards are available throughout the hospital. They are typically available within each patient care unit (usually at the nursing station).
Simply fill out the form, which asks for the name of the individual deserving recognition, the department they work in, the date, the name of the person submitting the form, and a short explanation of why the individual deserves recognition. After completing the form, just drop it off at the nurse's station or at any hospital information desk.
These cards are shared with the employees, their supervisors and, often, with department and hospital staff. In addition, those employees who receive cards are entered into a drawing each month for small prizes.
Contact Patient Relations
Patients and visitors can also recognize employees, volunteers and physicians by sending an email directly to the hospital's Patient Relations department. In your note of appreciation, please include the patient's name, the name of the staff member deserving recognition (even if you only know their first name) and a short explanation of why the individual deserves recognition. These emails are shared with the employees and their supervisor.
Or call Patient Relations at 602) 865-2036.
