Pediatric surgeons perform both inpatient and outpatient surgeries at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, often using minimally-invasive techniques that speed healing, shorten hospital stays, and reduce pain and discomfort. The hospital’s preoperative area has created a dedicated room, featuring the likes of "Winnie the Pooh", "Tigger", and "Piglet" to make invasive procedures less frightening. The room’s decorations and toys serve as a distraction from the medical team preparing children for surgery.
