What began as a one-tower facility in 1983 to meet the growing needs of the Glendale community, has become one of the leading health care providers and largest employer in the city.

Today, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is comprised of three towers, a dynamic Outpatient Center and a Children's Center.  We also have the second busiest Emergency Department in the state of Arizona, and are considered the most preferred hospital in the Northwest Valley.

In 2007, construction crews began working on our new 200-bed patient tower, scheduled for completion at the close of 2008.  As we continue to grow, we will provide programs and services that best meet the health care needs of our community residents and visitors.
