Banner Children’s is dedicated to being a leading institution for pediatric cancer treatment.
That is why the hospital joined CureSearch, a collaboration of two organizations – the National Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF) and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG)— both dedicated to discovering better ways to cure childhood cancer.
Through Banner Children’s association with CureSearch, pediatric cancer patients are provided the most advanced treatment options and research trials available right in the City of Mesa.
Together, Banner Children’s and CureSearch work toward the day when each child with cancer can be guaranteed a cure.
The CureSearch research is conducted at more than 200 member institutions, using a network of 5,000 physicians, nurses and scientists who are busy identifying cancer causes and pioneering new treatments and cures. Every pediatric cancer program in North America is represented.
This network of professionals offers compassion, expert diagnoses, daily care, state-of-the-art treatment and support to 90 percent of children with cancer in North America. Through the work of the CureSearch, rapid scientific progress in the treatment of childhood cancer has been made over the past 50 years.
Once considered a nearly fatal disease, childhood cancer is now curable overall in 78 percent of childhood cancer patients. Banner Children’s supports the CureSearch mission of raising public awareness and funding for ending childhood cancer to support lifesaving research, directly contributing to survival rates.
