Humor Therapy

There's an old saying that laughter is the best medicine. At Cardon Children's Medical Center, we put that to the test by offering humor therapy to our patients and visitors. Our volunteer caring clowns make the rounds throughout the hospital, helping our pediatric patients find their smiles.

Research has found that laughing may:

• Boost immune function
• Increase muscle tension
• Lower blood pressure
• Produce a general sense of well-being
• Reduce stress
• Trigger the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers
