Meet Arabella

Arabella shares her story about being in the hospital over Thanksgiving and how she is giving back to other sick children

Name: Arabella

Likes: My little sister, the colors pink and purple, swimming, gymnastics, Disneyland, massages, puppies, horses, painting, school, going to the park, roller-coasters and going fun places with my family.

Dislikes:  Being sick and mean people

Her story: Arabella (Bella) was in the hospital for 10 days with pneumonia. She had a complication that required surgery and a chest tube. She was only 3 years-old when she went through all of this.

She had to spend last Thanksgiving in the hospital, but thankfully, she was able to be home for Christmas. She made almost a complete recovery, but still has to do breathing treatments from time-to-time to continue strengthening her lungs.

Her mommy and daddy were very scared, but she was so brave through it all. Everyone who took care of her was so nice and she loved it when Buddy the dog came for a visit and especially loved the Child Life workers who brought all kinds of great things for her to do.

For Christmas Eve, Bella returned to the hospital with a group from Blake's Miracle and brought presents for the children.

This past March, she swam 20 laps to raise money for the hospital and to help other kids like her who are sick.

Bella can't wait to bring toays again this Christmas and plans to swim even more laps at the next Blake's Miracle swim-a-thon!

She started kindergarten this year and loves going to school and learning so many new things.

Bella is the best big sister and is mommy and daddy's hero. We are so grateful to everyone at Cardon Children's.
