Cardon Children's Medical Center is a comprehensive children's hospital that serves greater Phoenix, the state of Arizona and beyond.
We pledge to provide a pain-free environment whenever possible and we have developed a unique Pain Team approach, a 24/7 service to treat all pain-related issues.

The Pain Team includes a physician, nurse practitioner, Child Life specialists, massage therapist and music therapist working to assess and assist patients.
Our goal is to help our patients cope with pain as much as possible and work toward a quick recovery.
We use pharmacologic therapies with integrative therapies such as massage, music therapy, guided imagery and relaxation.
We also now use a needleless injection device called the J Tip to help prevent the pain of IV starts in our patients.
This device injects one-percent buffered lidocaine into the spot where the IV is going to go, numbing up the area. Not only does the patient not feel the IV as it is inserted, they also do not feel the injection of lidocaine.
