At Cardon Children's Medical Center, we are constantly looking for ways to fill our 10 toy closets.
To donate to a toy closet at Cardon Children's Medical Center, contact the Child Life Department at (480) 412-7815.
We also have opportunities to "adopt" a Toy Closet. Download this printable Toy Closet Adoption form for more information.
To improve infection control, we can only accept new toys and books.
Our first use for donated toys during the holiday season is to assemble bags of toys for Santa to deliver to hospitalized children on Christmas morning, and for children celebrating other winter holidays while here at Cardon Children’s. After the holiday season, toys which are left are then used to stock our Toy Closets.
When your group is ready to deliver, you may stop by anytime and leave the donation with those at our Information Desk. Our Information Desk is located just inside the Cardon Children's lobby, so you may pull your car up to our circle drive to drop off your donation, and should not need to park. We will request your contact information at that time, to send to Banner Health Foundation, so that you may receive an acknowledgment for tax purposes.
If you would like to meet with a Cardon Children's, or need assistance with your delivery, please call (480) 412-8158 to let us know the day and time that you would like to bring your items, and we will schedule a team member to assist you and accept the donation.
Organized and stocked by our dedicated Child Life department, our toy closets bring smiles to the faces of thousands of children by allowing each child to pick their own toy.
“It’s amazing what having that small choice in the middle of a situation where often there is no choice can have in a child’s attitude and healing,” said Sue Eaton, director of Child Life. “A toy is a small thing but it can go a long way in helping a child face a frightening situation through distraction and comfort.”
