Page Hospital celebrates Patient-Centered Care Awareness Month
Page Hospital joined other Planetree member sites from across the country in commemorating the second annual Patient-Centered Care Awareness Month in October. Across the country, healthcare organizations engaged in a variety of activities designed to empower patients, strengthen their patient-centered practices, publicly proclaim their commitment to patient-centered care, and reflect on their experiences to transform the healthcare experience.
At Page Hospital, employees celebrated patient-centered awareness month by re-committing to goals they had set during the spring Planetree retreat. Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano also signed a proclamation that State of Arizona recognizes October as Patient-Centered Care Awareness Month.
Acknowledging the significance of the changes that occur within patient-centered organizations, the theme of this year’s Patient-Centered Care Awareness Month was “transforming the healthcare experience for patients, families and staff.” A butterfly logo reinforces that while the process of transformation is gradual and at times challenging, with patience, creativity and perseverance, the results can be beautiful, vibrant and uplifting.
