A History of Partnership to Meet Patient Needs
Page Hospital has a long history of providing specialized care to the City of Page. Dating back to the late 1970s, various specialists have made stops in Page to hold clinics in Orthopaedics and Opthalmology. Banner Health's predecessor, Samaritan Health System, assumed management of Page Hospital in 1982 and began recruiting a number of other specialists and flying them up from Phoenix by charter airline. Some of those same physicians have continued to serve our community through our many growth spurts.
As our population grew and became more diverse, the need for a wider variety of specialties became apparent. Banner Health has continued recruitment, credentialing and arranging for transportation of specialists. Flagstaff Medical Center has also been instrumental in sending specialists to meet some of those needs. Specialists have also come in from St. George, and Cedar City, Utah.
