Medical Staff Services
The Medical Staff Services department is available to assist you. We provide administrative support to medical staff and act as a liaison between our physicians and administration.
Medical Staff Services is located at Banner Lassen Medical Center within our administration department. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Please contact us at (530) 252-2225 or email.
Minimum Initial Qualifications for Core Privileges:
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy with a license to practice in California.
- Graduation from accredited medical school or college of osteopathic medicine
- Board Certification in OR Board Admissible in the specialty of through the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists; OR a minimum of ten (10) years of active clinical practice; OR completion of General Practice Residency.
- Proof of Malpractice Insurance
- Current DEA License
- Current competence as verified through references
Minimum Qualifications for Emergency Room Physicians:
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy with a license to practice in California.
- Graduation from accredited medical school or college of osteopathic medicine
- Successful completion of at least one year of an ACGME/AOA approved post graduate/residency training program in Emergency Medicine or a general/primary care specialty.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Proof of Malpractice Insurance
- Current DEA License
- Current competence as verified through references
CRNA Privilege criteria
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) must meet the following criteria:
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing and hold current state licensure as a registered nurse.
- Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
- Successfully complete the certification examination administered by the Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
- Comply with criteria for biennial recertification of Nurse Anesthetists. These criteria include evidence of:
Current licensure as a registered nurse,
Active practice as a CRNA,
Appropriate continuing education and
Verification of the absence of mental, physical and other problems which could interfere with the practice of anesthesia. - Comply with the California state requirements in regulating the advanced practice of nursing.
- Be insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution.
- Be able to secure references from three practitioners who have knowledge of applicant’s competency, character and qualifications.
